Good Fishing with Good People

The inshore fishing has been really good lately with catches of red drum, speckled trout, black drum, flounder and bluefish. Many of the red drum are over the slot, drag screaming fish and a blast on light tackle. The trout are not as thick as they were but are larger fish, 2 to 3 lbs. We are picking up a few flounder mixed in with the trout and reds.

My thirteen year old son Christian has been doing really well in the waterway fishing out of his 16′ Carolina Skiff catching red drum, black drum, and bluefish. He is already an accomplished angler and is excellent at operating a boat.

Check out some the photos from the past couple of weeks. These are just a few of the many good catches we have had lately.

It is time to go fishing. May is shaping up to be an outstanding month.

Thanks,

Red Drum, Black Drum, and Speckled Trout. Good Fishin!

The inshore fishing continues to be strong with good catches of red drum, black drum, and speckled trout. The bluefish are showing up in good numbers and some of the larger ones 8 to 12 lbs are showing up on the inshore waters. There are also a few flounder and striped bass being caught. The virginia mullet and gray trout are still in the lower part of the Cape Fear river. The spanish mackerel and sheephead should be showing up in the next week or so and we will have a good variety of species to catch.

The wind and the speckled trout bite has kept me off of the flats lately. Hopefully we will get a slick calm day at low water to go and look for some redfish with the Ranger flats boat.

Check out some of the photos from the past couple of weeks.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe
