Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 7/7/12 Inshore fishing up and down in the Cape Fear area.

Well it looks like the dog days of summer are approaching and the fishing maybe a little unpredictable over the next month or so. It has been a little hot , but has not been that bad on the water with the seabreezes we have had lately. We have had some good days lately along with some tough ones but that’s fishing for the month of July. On a trip today 7/7/12, we had seven keeper flounder, two redfish, and a 15″ speckled trout all caught on the Berkley Power bait Jerkshad, my go to artificial lately. On calm days we have been able to find large schools of redfish and have done well sightcasting artificials and topwater plugs to these fish. We have also been doing some awesome sightcasting to tailing redfish on some of the flood high tides we have had recently. On the days when the wind blows a little we have been catching a few flounder, speckled trout, sheephead, bluefish, and redfish on live baits and artificials in the creeks and bays of the lower Cape Fear.

Thanks for reading my short report and check out a few of the photos from some of my recent trips.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe
