Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 12/18/08

Beautiful Weather and Great Fishing!!!

We have had some nice weather here in southeastern N.C. with temps in the 70’s. The water temps have gone up a few degrees and the fish have responded. It is supposed to get cold for a couple of days and then back into the 70’s so this trend should continue. The fishing is going to be good over the Christmas holidays!

The redfish bite has been really good lately. We are catching them on artificial and live baits around dock pilings, shellbeds, and oyster rocks. There are also some large shools of reds on the flats when the tide and wind cooperates. We are also finding some smaller schools of nice reds in the creeks on low water.

There are also good numbers of speckled trout in the river, around the inlets, and the creeks. We are catching the specs on live shrimp, artificial shrimp under a popping float, and grubs.

The striped bass are also in the upper parts of the Cape Fear river above Wilmington.

The fishing is going to be good over the holidays. If you would like to get out there give me a call. Check out some of the photos from the past couple of weeks.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe
