Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 3/23/08

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

The inshore fishing has really turned on this past week. On my recent charters we have had some good catches of speckled trout, red drum, black drum, and virginia mullet. On one trip we had an excellent catch of speckled trout with one that weighed over 4 pounds. There was also a couple of red drum and black drum mixed in. There was also a really big red drum or black drum that took the bait, exploded the water, screamed the drag and broke the leader on the bottom. What a sight! It still bothers me when I think about it.

I have also been seeing some nice schools of redfish 40 to 70 fish on the flats, but they have been reluctant to take the artificials we have been throwing at them. It is still alot of fun to see and try to catch these fish.

We have also been catching some nice black drum 3 to 4 pounders with a few reds mixed in around the docks.

Looks like it is going to be a good spring fishing season. Give me a call if you would like to go.

Thanks,
Jeff

Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 3/6/08

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

The inshore fishing is picking up and should be getting better. There are some really good catches of nice size Virginia mullet. I had Cheri from NJ on half day trip with me on 3/6 and she caught 44. We are catching them on shrimp and Berkley Gulp crabs. There are also a some red drum on the flats, around the oyster beds and docks and in the inlets. There are also a few speclkled trout in the inlet and in the river. The shad should be showing up at the lock and damn in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks,
Jeff
